The Milky Way arching over a dark mountain landscape

Gallery — Night & Wonder

Frames of Wonder

Prepare to be captivated, moved and inspired as you delve into the dark.

Frames of Wonder is our after-hours album: the fells photographed when the sun has resigned and the stars take the shift. It begins on a white ridge at dusk and ends in a green gorge at first light — the full arc of a night spent awake on purpose.

Night photography is ninety percent waiting and ten percent wonder, and this album keeps both. The waiting: cold fingers, cooling tea, the long patience of the tripod. The wonder: a river of stars rising over a sleeping range, and the realisation that the land never actually goes dark — it only changes audience.
